Darcy Cumming BSc.

Cohort Mentor, Advance Coaching Diploma

Darcy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Saskatchewan. He went on to complete his NCCP level 4 certification and obtained his coaching diploma from the National Coaching Institute Calgary (now Advanced Coaching Diploma) under the mentorship of Les Gramantik.

Darcy was assistant coach for the track and field team at the University of Bath where he was mentored by Malcolm Arnold (OBE). In 2004, he accepted a position as national sprints, hurdles and relays coach for Scotland. Darcy committed over 20 years to coaching athletes and managing programs. He has worked at three high performance centres for athletics and traveled with over a dozen teams to international competitions. His strength is in developing people through planning and preparation based on their strengths and weaknesses.

Darcy joined the Canadian Sport Institute Alberta in 2017. Darcy loves working with coaches and athletes to help identify the limits to their strength, stamina, suppleness, speed and psychology. He also really enjoys the conversation between coaches from differing sports.
