Maura Hooper MKin, CSEP-CEP

Exercise Physiologist, , Anthropometrist

Maura has a Master of Kinesiology from the University of Calgary and worked for the Canadian Sport Institute Alberta and the Faculty of Kinesiology Graduate Program at the University of Calgary for over 10 years.

After taking some time away to be home with her three boys, Maura came back to the CSI Alberta in 2018 Maura is an ISAK Level 1 certified Anthropometrist and is responsible for conducting body composition assessments for a variety of national and professional sport organizations both at the NextGen and national team level. She has worked with some of Canada’s top athletes (Catriona Le May Doan, Jeremy Wotherspoon, Becky Scott, Sara Renner) leading up to the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympic Games.

Maura also works on a variety of research projects to help enhance athlete performance. She worked on a pilot project to help cancer and stem cell transplant survivors overcome chronic fatigue.

Maura is an instructor/examiner for the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP) where she coordinates and conducts Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) designation workshops and examinations.
