Marianne Portelance  BHPED

Marianne completed her Bachelor of Health and Physical Education from Mount Royal University. While completing her undergrad, Marianne spent time working as a personal trainer at the YMCA. She also volunteered her time as an events coordinator and health and safety plan developer for the Outlier Surf Club.

She joined the Canadian Sport Institute Calgary team in 2021 where she worked as a communications and marketing assistant. Since joining CSI Calgary, Marianne has gained valuable experience in translation, media collaboration, event planning and coordination.

Marianne spent her youth competing at the National level in long track speed skating for six years. After stepping away from skating she developed a passion in volunteering for various large sporting events such as: Cross Fit 2016 Nationals in Albany, NY as athlete services, Red Bull Crashed Ice 2017 as a French translator for team France, and recently Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games as Mission Staff and Media Liaison.

Outside of the office you can find her either volunteering her time at local sporting events, or in the mountains enjoying various outdoor activities.
