Canadian Sport Institute Calgary Announces Partnership with DUER

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 24th, 2023

CALGARY – The Canadian Sport Institute Calgary (CSI Calgary) is proud to announce its new community partnership with DUER, a Vancouver-based brand offering a category of stretch performance denim and lifestyle apparel crafted from plants and recycled materials.

“We at DUER are so grateful for the opportunity to be able to work with CSI Calgary!” said Scott Burns, Calgary Store Team Lead, DUER. “The DUER x CSI Calgary partnership grew organically from a chance-meeting between two individuals. Our aligned values alongside our shared passion for supporting individuals with high performance needs has made starting this united journey and nurturing it a priority. Working with Annie Goncin and her team has been enjoyable for the entire process. We are looking forward to seeing athletes and staff in DUER wear, and cannot wait to see what the future holds!”

After decades in the jeanswear business, DUER’s founder traded in his car for a bike to adopt a healthier active lifestyle. Unable to find a pair of pants with stretch to handle a commute and polish for a day of meetings, the need for performance denim emerged. DUER’s products are designed for “doers” to move comfortably from bike lane to boardroom to an evening out, all in a single pair of pants. “We are thrilled to bring on DUER as our new community partner. DUER, and all the staff in the Calgary store have been unbelievably supportive in our mission to ‘elevate the athlete’”, said Gary Davies, President & CEO, CSI Calgary. “To kick off the partnership, DUER hosted CSI Calgary and Athletes in the Calgary store for an intimate shopping experience, product-knowledge hour, and fitting sessions. Athletes were paired with a sales associate to further understand the fit and purpose of each denim style. They understand the needs and impact of active, high performance-individuals, and want to ensure affordability for athletes. We are looking forward to the year-ahead working with DUER, and increasing our athletes’ experience networking and working with new partners.”
