Victor Lun

Victor Lun MD, CCFP(SEM), Dip Sport Med

Sport Medicine Physician

Victor completed both his undergraduate as well as his Master of Science at Simon Frasier University in kinesiology. He went on to attend medical school at the University of British Columbia.

Victor joined the University of Calgary Sport Medicine Centre in 1999 which led him to become a medical consultant for the then Canadian Sport Centre Calgary (now CSIAB). As a sport medicine physician, his role is to maintain the health of athletes to achieve optimal performance.  Victor has worked with several Canadian national teams including long track speed skating, bobsleigh, skeleton, luge and water polo. He was also a member of the health service teams at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Summer Games and the 2010 Vancouver Olympics Winter Games.

Victor is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Family Medicine, University of Calgary. He has numerous peer-reviewed grants and publications related to research in clinical sport and exercise medicine.  In his spare time, he competes in triathlons and plays the alto saxophone.

Chris Beavington

Chris Beavington BMSc MD CCFP (SEM) DipSportMed

Dr. Chris Beavington left his hometown of Red Deer to complete his BMSc, MD, and Family Medicine Residency at the University of Alberta from 2009-2017. In 2018, he concluded his 12 month Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Glen Sather Sports Medicine Clinic by achieving his CASEM Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine. Since then, he has completed several locum contracts providing coverage in multiple clinics, hospitals, and emergency departments in rural Alberta and the Yukon Territory in addition to working as a specialist in Sport and Exercise Medicine.

Throughout his training and professional career, Dr. Beavington has provided sideline sporting event medical coverage at the amateur, CFL, CIS (U SPORTS), CJFL, Masters, NHL and Para levels. He has an appreciation for all sports and performing arts but particularly enjoys playing and providing medical care in basketball, football, and hockey.

As a year-round cyclist, cross country runner, and rowing enthusiast, Dr. Beavington is passionate about improving the quality medical care to endurance athletes. He also has a special interest in sport psychology and nutrition, as well as ultrasound-guided injections.
